The World Council of Comparative Education Societies (WCCES) was established in 1970. Its specific goals are:

to promote the study of comparative and international education throughout the world and enhance the academic status of this field;
to bring comparative education to bear on the major educational problems of the day by fostering co-operative action by specialists from different parts of the world.

Condolences to members of JCES

On behalf of the member societies of WCCES, Professor Wing-On Lee (President, WCCES), conveys heartfelt condolences to members of the Japan Comparative Education Society, for the recent earthquake and devastating tsunami that struck the north-eastern part of Japan. WCCES stands in solidarity and support with the people of Japan as they recover and rebuild their homes, lives, and country.
